Chakra is the ancient Sanskrit word for wheel. It symbolizes the ball of energy or energy vortex that exists at different points in your body that affects your mind/body/soul connection in various ways. There are seven main chakra points that exist in a line spanning from the top of your head to the base of your spine.
When chakras are out of alignment or in any other way blocked by negativity, it can affect your health, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Just like musical instruments need to be tuned in order to create the vibrations with which to make beautiful music, so too can our chakras become out of tune and need to be recalibrated in order to vibrate and function properly.
Because the energy in our bodies moves at different frequencies and vibrational speed it can negatively affect us in different ways depending on how our chakras are out of sync. Sometimes it comes out in a physical form such as with a disease or other serious health issue. Other times it can manifest through mental issues like the inability to concentrate and focus, or emotional issues such as depression and anxiety.
Chakras can become out of balance for a variety of reasons. Stress is a huge factor with how the chakras are affected. Exercise and sleep habits, along with nutritional intake can also affect them, as can physical or emotional trauma. Absorbing mental and emotional negativity from the world around you and other people you interact with can also affect how the chakras function.
There are different ways to bring your chakras back into balance and harmony. Some can be performed yourself while others need special training and instruction to be done properly.
Meditation is a strong way to activate your chakras and is a good foundation for some of the other healing activities. Meditation is a way of using your breathing to focus your brain and calm your nervous system allowing healing and realignment to occur.
Yoga is a combination of physical moves and breathing techniques that balance your mind and body together allowing energy to flow through your chakras and balance their vibrations.
Reiki is a form of energy work by which energy from the universe flows through the practitioner to raise their own vibrations or to help raise someone else’s chakric vibrations.
You can also use tools to bring your chakras into proper harmony. Crystals can be used alone or in conjunction with both meditation or Reiki to focus energy and aid with balancing of your chakras. Different crystals work better with specific chakras at different points of the body.
There are those that also use actual tuning forks to raise or change the vibrations of the chakras in your body. This also takes special training to be able to accomplish.
Bringing your chakras into alignment and having them balanced and in harmony with the energy of the universe is a good way to help yourself stay healthy in mind body and spirit.
