Exercising an Open Mind With Energy Healing

Many cultures all over the world throughout the ages have attributed some or even all of their spiritual healing practices on the focus of energy currents in the body. When you tap into this energy, you can begin healing yourself by breaking through these blockages.

What Is Energy Healing?

Energy healing is the process of activating your body’s energy systems to remove blockages. These blockages can be caused by all types of disruptions — from anxiety, depression, and other mental ailments to back pain, headaches, and weight loss. Energy healing is a holistic approach to breaking through these energy blockages to promote the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

How to Channel Energy to Heal

According to Shakti tradition, there are seven energy centers, or chakras, that serve as central points for the transfer of energy throughout your body. When one or more of these energy centers become blocked, it can result in stress, health upsets, or other disruptions, both physical and emotional. To channel this energy, use meditation as a guide for opening the heart and mind. Sit in a quiet space free from distractions and close your eyes.

Focus on your breathing and take slow, deep breaths. Concentrate on the feeling of energy flowing throughout your body, unobstructed. The more you practice doing this, the more easily you’ll be able to pull the energy you need for healing yourself and others.

How to Heal People

Energy healing takes a lot of practice, time, and patience, whether you’re learning Reiki or another tradition. As you learn how to do it for yourself, you can start practicing reading and feeling the energy of others. As you get used to that, you can start channeling your energy to help others unblock their seven chakras, or wherever you notice the energy blockages. Over time, this unobstructed flow of energy throughout the body can lead to positive outcomes.

Staying Calm During Financial Turbulence

Financial stress can cause anxiety, negatively affect your mental and emotional wellbeing, and can even hurt you physically.  It is extremely important to find ways to be calm during hard financial times, but it can be the most difficult time in which to do so.

Meditation, Yoga and Reiki can all help with decreasing your stress levels and keep them from rising when financial hardships occur.  All three of these systems tap into the energy that flows through you and connects your mind, body and emotions together within your being.

Meditation sometimes stresses people out because they say “I’m no good at meditation.”  Or they think they have to have their mind completely calm in order for meditation to “work.”  That isn’t the case.  Meditation, especially when you are first learning, can be helpful and doesn’t require you to “control your mind.”

Find a place that is comfortable that you can be alone for just a few minutes.  It can even be the bathroom if it is hard for you to find privacy.  Bring your awareness to your breathing.  Focus on trying to elongate your inhale, and then focus on matching the length of your exhale with it.

Just allow your mind to flow, whatever comes in, just try to gently encourage it to flow right out again.  Try to not allow anything to take up root in your thoughts but if you find your mind spiraling about a thought, try to move your mind back to focusing on your breathing.

This can help in as little as just a couple of minutes to calm your mind and body and help your emotions not overwhelm you.

Yoga uses your body and mind connection to ease your stress levels.  Again, so many people say “I’m not flexible enough for yoga.”  That doesn’t matter for stress relief.  It doesn’t have to be a full workout and you don’t have to be a long-time yogi to benefit from the stress relief this can give you.  There are many videos of yoga for beginners that you can find online.    Pick one pose or a couple that won’t make you feel intimidated and that will be easy for you to do in the space you have.

Standing Mountain pose can be done just about anywhere and by anyone.  You stand up as straight as possible, with your feet parallel.  You lengthen each part of your body slowly focusing first on your legs, then your midsection then lengthening your spine and straightening your shoulders.  You tuck your chin slightly and pull the crown of the head upwards.  You breathe slowly and deeply while holding this position and then let out a breath as you relax your body and release the pose.  This done a few times slowly can calm your system and help bring your mind to ease.

Reiki is an energy technique that allows a Reiki Master to clear your energy and aura of blockages and alleviates stress to allow your Chi to flow in a healthy way through your mind, body and emotions.  This is especially helpful if you have had ongoing financial worries for an extended period of time.  All that stress can build up and the energy blockages can even cause health problems.

Using any of these techniques consistently can help build up a higher tolerance for stress and anxiety and help to prepare you for unexpected financial stress.

Reiki For Self-Love

Reiki for taking care of yourself is so very important. When you open yourself to self-care through Reiki, you become aligned to your highest self. This is tuning into the essence or ‘energy’ of you, not the literal human you. There can be a big difference. Learning to tune into you, the “true you” is a beautiful place to start.

This process will allow you to start by “letting go” of circumstances that have been holding you back. You are amazing, inside and out. Now is the time to see and feel that version of you — and start living it.

Either literally, or thru visualization, be in a place of utter calm and reverence. Choose a place that feels like the true YOU. Imagine that you are grounded into the earth and connected to your higher power. Feel the compassionate, self-care loving energy resonate inside of you. Celebrate YOU thru your heart chakra and healing green light energy

Now, imagine you are lighting a spiritual fire inside your solar plexus/abdomen with the empowering Yellow light energy. This will reduce and eliminate some of the stuck energy that has been holding you back. By allowing the magic of unconditional love to overcome your low vibrational thoughts, feelings or actions — you shine brighter every day.

Self Love

So much of society today is based around love, the search for love, finding the perfect love, but the basis for all love in this world should start with self love.  Self love and self care are important aspects of living an emotionally healthy life.  Unfortunately society has taught us that putting ourselves and our own needs as a priority is “selfish” and not the right way to live.

It is important in the hectic day to day way we live now as a culture to realize that if we only focus on others we tend to burn ourselves out.  We cannot constantly be giving and loving to others without first loving and caring for ourselves if we want any long term balance.

Think of it as burning an oil lamp constantly without ever thinking about a need to refill it.  It will eventually run out and you will be left in darkness.

There are many ways you can give love to yourself, such as meditation, journaling, yoga, Reiki, and massage.  But instead of focusing on a one time gift to yourself, try having a self love practice every day.  You don’t have to take hours out of your day to do it, if you practice it more often.  And as with anything, the more you practice, the easier it will become.

The first thing to remember, no matter what way you choose to feed your soul, is that you must start with compassion for yourself.  This can be very difficult.  For many people we are taught that we are not worthy unless we are giving to others, or unless we are “proving” our worth by some kind of activity or action.

This is not true.  You are worthy of love and compassion just for being you.  As you are in this moment, without having to do anything or be any certain way, you are worthy of love and happiness.

Even if you don’t “believe it” in your heart, behave like you do and it will come eventually.  There is a reason “fake it till you make it,” is an important mantra.  It won’t take long if you truly give love to yourself before you will begin to believe you truly do deserve it.

Everyone is unique, so your version of self love and self care might look different that the next person’s.  What you choose as your self-love activity isn’t as important as the way it makes you feel.  Choose anything you like to do, go to the movies, listen to an album, read a book, as long as it makes you feel, happy, calm, relaxed or fulfilled.  Any of these emotions will start to refill your tank.  The important thing is that you seek out activities on a regular basis that make you laugh, or relax the tension in your shoulders, something that challenges your mind, or calms it, whichever is the most fulfilling thing for you.

The more you make yourself a priority, the more energy you will have for everything and everyone else.
